“The Sinaloa Cartel drug traffickers had a problem with me because I was buying such an enormous amount of drugs that they had convinced themselves I was dealing it and competing with them,” he revealed, Charlie Sheen.

It’s incredible that I’m still alive. I’ve come to the conclusion that God or whoever, has plans for me,” Charlie Sheen told La Repubblica, during the launch of his autobiographical book “The book of Sheen. Un memoir,” where the 60-year-old actor recounted the key moments of his life, sparing nothing. Among the anecdotes, there was the one about his encounter with the extremely dangerous drug traffickers of the Sinaloa Cartel.

“They had it in for me because I was buying so much drugs that they had convinced themselves I was selling them and competing with them: they couldn’t believe that one man could use so much all at once,” he wrote.

The first words of the book are telling: “I was born dead.” The actor explains: “I had the noose around my neck, in practice I was already on the funeral car. But the doctor saved me by hitting me repeatedly. Second name, I’m called Irwin in his honor. What a great start, eh?”

Among the many memories is the life on set at ten years old, alongside his father Martin Sheen, in the Philippines for the cult film “Apocalypse Now” by Francis Ford Coppola. “The set was truly crazy beyond any imagination,” he commented, “They were filming all kinds of substances because there was a lot of pressure: we’re talking about Hollywood at its peak and people like Francis Ford Coppola and Marlon Brando. How much he ate! One day he came to lunch with us and Mom prepared a huge bowl of spaghetti with butter and Parmesan for everyone. Brando ate it up, leaving us speechless. We were incredulous. But he was a truly fascinating, intelligent, almost supernatural person.”

C2E2 2026 Photos, Part 2 of 2: Jessica Jones, The West Wing, and a Cavalcade of Comics

Previously on Midlife Crisis Crossover: It’s that time again! This weekend my wife Anne and I attended the latest edition of the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Exposition (“C2E2″), a three-day extravaganza of comic books, actors, creators, toys, props, publishers, freebies, plush dolls, variant covers, anime we don’t recognize, and walking and walking and walking and walking. We missed the inaugural 2010 gala and presciently skipped the February 2020 pre-shutdown soiree, but more often than not, whenever they send out the call to convene, we’re happy to answer... ...although we dragged our feet on committing to this year's edition as we waited for them to invite actors that we hadn't already met and who've performed in shows and/or movies we really enjoyed. Less than a month before showtime, we were finally feeling it and bought tickets. But we planned for a less epic adventure than usual. It was still fun! We have fewer anecdotes than usual, though. On the bright side, that means less typing for me and a shorter read for You, The Viewers At Home! (Not counting the next several paragraphs.) […]

EL CINE DE LOS AÑOS 70
MALAS TIERRAS (1973)

Filme in der ARD: Apocalypse Now – Final Cut - hier anschauen

Mit Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Dennis Hopper, Harrison Ford u.a. | Buch: John Milius | Regie: Francis Ford Coppola

Francis Ford Coppola – „Apocalypse Now – Final Cut“ (1979)

„Apocalypse Now“ ist kein Antikriegsfilm. Er ist ein Dokument des imperialen Wahns. Er glaubt nicht an Erlösung. Auch nicht an Erkenntnis. (ARD, Wh)
