The fun when you think you picked up a science fiction novel, but it’s really a sociology treatise. Not. #KimStanleyRobinson #MarsTrilogy

I have just returned from walking St James’s Way. It is perhaps the most famous of the medieval pilgrimage routes: for twelve centuries pilgrims have walked it to reach the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in northwestern Spain, and they still do.

Apparently Red Mars starts around 2026 and maybe it's time to re-read the trilogy

Author of Red Mars calls 'bullshit' on emigrating to the planet

Kim Stanley Robinson opens his classic science fiction novel Red Mars in 2026. As the New Scientist Book Club embarks on reading it in April, he looks back on its origins – and how the idea of moving to Mars holds up today

Very lazily working my way through Kim Stanley Robinson's Blue Mars at Daughters. It's a beautiful day.

Nothing makes you feel old quite like digging out your favourite sci-fi novel from when you were a teenager and realizing it's now that year. #redmars #MarsTrilogy #kimstanleyrobinson

I'm on to the second book of the Mars Trilogy, Green Mars, by Kim Stanley Robinson. I'm not a "colonize Mars" guy in the slightest. We need to focus here and now on Earth. The story here though is more than about Mars. It is about the scourges of corporate interest, dismantling the common good. The scientific backdrop to this storyline makes it all the more immersive, including compelling character development. I'd provide examples, but you should just read it yourself. 🙂 #greenmars, #kimstanleyrobinson, #MarsTrilogy
