I am now recognising Taiwanese actors across Taiwanese ghost movies. Our lead tonight in #DeadTalentsSociety was previously seen by us in #MarryMyDeadBody.

I am a little worried I am watching too many ghost movies though. It might be time to start branching out to other #TaiwaneseDrama.

Trying to find options for movie nights that aren't too romancy for my partner and I to watch, and it looks like #Taiwanese films are becoming firm favourites. All I had to say was "I found another Taiwanese ghost movie" and I got a very loud and enthusiastic "Sure!" From the other room.

He really liked #MarryMyDeadBody (which I argued was romance and got told it very much was not so 🤷‍♀️) and #SecretsInTheHotSpring. Tonight will be #HelloGhost.

Oh, it seems like there's either an adaptation of Marry My Dead Body, or its source material (if it is, itself, an adaptation).

The main, and big difference, seems to be he's not a cop?

Also, the trailer implies the potential for attraction between the leads in TRE, whereas no such scene is in MMDB, and I can't tell if it's effectively a buddy movie or not.

So here's another film recommendation that almost certainly nobody is interested in, but hey.

關於我和鬼變成家人的那件事 (Marry my dead body) is a Taiwanese supernatural comedy, which plays on the Chinese concept of ghost marriage, ending up with a young homophobic policeman getting ghost-married to a recently deceased (killed in a hit and run) gay guy.

It's very funny and also a reminder of how far ahead Taiwan is in all LGBTQ+ matters to the rest of the world (and especially Asia).

I just finished #MarryMyDeadBody. Oh, that was poignant, but so sweet.
