“L’operazione è stata un successo“. Con il consueto post social, Marc Marquez annuncia la buona riuscita del doppio intervento chirurgico a cui è stato sottoposto all’Ospedale Ruber Internacional di Madrid. Il pilota spagnolo della Ducati ha pubblicato alcune foto del suo ricovero, in cui gli è stata vicino la compagna Gemma Pinto. Negli scatti si notano un grosso cerotto all’altezza della spalla destra e la fasciatura al piede destro. Ma è la prima immagine a rassicurare tutti: Marquez è già in piedi, sorridente, a bordo piscina. “Sono veramente grato per tutti i vostri messaggi di supporto. Grazie al team medico per il loro incredibile lavoro”, ha scritto nel suo post.
La missione per tornare in MotoGp è appena cominciata: l’obiettivo è provare a essere in pista già per il Gran premio del Mugello, in programma il 31 maggio, o più verosimilmente a giugno tra Ungheria e Repubblica Ceca.
Marquez si è fratturato il quinto metatarso del piede nella brutta caduta durante la gara Sprint del GP di Le Mans. Ma dopo la gara ha annunciato che si sarebbe sottoposto anche a un altro intervento: “Non avevo detto niente finora, ma già avevo deciso di operarmi alla spalla destra dopo il GP Catalunya. Dopo Jerez ho capito perfettamente c’era qualcosa che non andava, i dottori guardando bene hanno visto che dopo la caduta in Indonesia di ottobre era tutto a posto, ma la vite rotta che ho nella spalla è in una direzione un po’ diversa, di un millimetro, e tocca il nervo radiale”, ha spiegato Marquez a Sky Sport.
L’operazione alla spalla è servita quindi a togliere questa vite, che impediva al campione spagnolo di esprimersi al meglio sulla moto: “Per questo motivo sto guidando in maniera incostante e cado in maniera strana, quando tocca il nervo non posso guidare bene“. La speranza per Marquez è che i postumi dell’incidente in Indonesia siano ora definitivamente alle spalle. Anche se il suo braccio destro, dall’omero alla spalla, lo tormenta ormai dalla famosa caduta a Jerez nel 2020.

The operation was a success. With the usual social media post, Marc Marquez announced the successful outcome of the double surgery he underwent at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid. The Spanish Ducati rider published some photos of his hospitalization, in which his partner Gemma Pinto was close to him. The shots show a large bandage at the height of his right shoulder and a bandage on his right foot. But the first image reassures everyone: Marquez is already standing, smiling, by the pool. “I am truly grateful for all your messages of support. Thank you to the medical team for their incredible work,” he wrote in his post.
The mission to return to MotoGP has just begun: the goal is to try to be on track already for the Mugello Grand Prix, scheduled for May 31st, or more likely in June between Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Marquez fractured his fifth metatarsal of the foot in the nasty fall during the Sprint race of the Le Mans GP. But after the race he announced that he would also undergo another surgery: “I hadn’t said anything so far, but I had already decided to operate on my right shoulder after the Catalunya GP. After Jerez I realized perfectly that something was wrong, the doctors looking closely saw that after the October fall in Indonesia everything was fine, but the broken bone in my shoulder is in a slightly different direction, by a millimeter, and touches the radial nerve,” explained Marquez to Sky Sport.
The shoulder surgery was therefore to remove this bone, which prevented the Spanish champion from performing at his best on the motorcycle: “That’s why I’m riding inconsistently and falling in strange ways, when it touches the nerve I can’t ride well.” Marquez’s hope is that the aftermath of the accident in Indonesia is now definitively behind him. Even though his right arm, from the elbow to the shoulder, has been tormenting him since the famous fall in Jerez in 2020.
