The big, long-tailed cats ear isn't clipped so we guess the Feral Cat feeders haven't been able to catch this one for the sterilizing operation yet... Maybe I'll take some duct tape (Gomu rubber tape in Japanese, haven't been able to find duct tape yet...) tomorrow morning. Or maybe it was these cats that tossed the empty box of butterfly condoms I found while chopping down street weeds yesterday. Responsbile Cats!?!?!

Sometimes it looks bad for the cat, Milky. But the dog, Maron has refrained from eating her so far. Maron may be learning to restrain her exuberance in order to play, It's good that she is restrained so Milky can flee, take a break and come back when she's ready.. Sometimes I'm surprised the cat wants to go back and play again, It can seem like she's about to be eaten..

This cat might look like a big Milky(Way) but I don't think it wants to play Maron. You're gonna end up yelping in pain like with that old Shiba dog in the park last week... There was no contact, and Maron handled the rejection well..
It worked out this time.. Around here there are 3 cats that have the same markings as MilkyWay. This one has the longest tail. It's the short, medium, and long tail lengths that clued me in to the idea that there are 3 different possible Milky ancestors in this area. This one's eyes seem to be a different color than Milky's... Hopefully it won't find it's way to our place and start eating Silky chicks..

Maron east Rantana (Lantana? I forget) berries... I think the berries are still green. After reading that these bushes are invasive species and should not be planted I've been trying to break off branches with flowers before getting seed. The Silky Chickens seem to like eating the flower puddles and our muddy hard can always use more leave and twigs.. But I still find berries/seeds sometimes while breaking off the branches to provide bird-snacks..

Successful dog toy!! It can be thrown around, it skids and flips in seeming random pattern, and it makes a noise. There's plenty of "pleasure at being the cause"

Milky(way) the cat likes to socialize with Maron the dog when there is a screen between them. As soon as soon as you pull aside the screen so they can meet directly Maron, always overly exuberant, move to fast and close and sniffs and licks too hard.. Milky gave up trying to scracth and bite ears and just whines and tries to get away, she just moves and sounds in a way that makes you feel bad for putting her through this ordeal. But at least we know Maron doesn't seem want to eat her... But after seeing her with the crab and some big bugs it may be "A thin line between playing and eating.." --- apologies to the Pretenders...

Suprised out how social the cat is getting with the dog already. Maybe they'll figure out how to deal with each other without tearing the screen or hurting each other.. Would be nice if an adopter showed up though. We enjoy the company of enough animals already, and this kitten is quick and energetic. My guess is it's the result (at least on one side) of a few generations of tough outdoor cat and is gonna be too active, climby and clawwy to try and keep in the house... And we can't let the predator out of the house to kill the ecology... Sure is cute though.

Not going into the river today are we?

Smart to put a paw in there and feel it being washed downstream before jumping in with the whole body...

And even more rains the night and day after this photo was taken (0627). Be nice to get down to see the river Saturday morning if possible. This evening is Free (Save) the Computer night at the Free School... The heavy rain makes it a pain with the the biking home and then getting PC and books into the car then out of the car and into the Kids Center... all of that going outside...

Time to get moving!!
