41 years ago today, September 29, 1984, Mark Gray debuted on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Diamond in the Dust” and went on to peak at #9 and spent a total of 21 weeks on the chart.

I have numerous 45 RPM singles in my collection. Several are from my years in the radio broadcasting business. But this is one I bought at my favorite music store over four decades ago and is in my treasured record collection.
