I was caught up in looking after Celestine for much of this week, but the fediverse offered some delights to boost and an outlet to share.

Today I found some time to install and play The Legend of Zelda – Zelda’s Awakening DX ROM hack. From the little I was able to play, it feels like a loving, careful insertion of Zelda into Link’s role.

Tonight I’ve been listening to the covers of Marit Larsen songs from the Norweigan show Hver gang vi møtes. It’s so wonderful to see her get her flowers as the superb songwriter she has become.

Nintendo’s 2025 recap arrived yesterday. I spent most of the time playing in 2025 with Xenoblade Chronicles X. I still love that game.

Before it was released I played some of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and in November and December I played some of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but it was otherwise my most played game each month. It will probably remain my top game for 2026 as I still have the final chapter to play and no immediate desire to get a Switch 2 and move on to newer games.

M2M’s two albums were important to me, and I followed both of their solo careers in the years after their breakup. Marit Larsen went on to become an incredible songwriter and Marion Raven developed significantly as a vocalist. It always seemed like we all lost out on something special that would have been created if they had remained a duo.

M2M reunited last year and began touring this year. They re-recorded five of their most-loved songs for Still in My Dreams and recaptured some of that promise. These new recordings are clearly infused with an appreciation for what they created while so young and bring their greater experience to the process.

I’m hopeful the successful tour and this EP mean we’ll get new songs from the band before long.

It's super satisfying to request a book be purchased for a local library and the next day see 3 copies ordered for locations around the city.

I asked for Marit Larsen's Agnes's Place because I wasn't able to find an ebook available on the services I use and want to read it to Celestine.
