Strait of Hormuz traffic drops sharply amid regional escalation
Vessel activity in the Strait of Hormuz has shifted materially following recent US strikes on Iran and the subsequent regional escalation. According to real-time traffic analysis, transits through the chokepoint fell by approximately 70% after 16:00 UTC on 28 February, compared with levels 12 hours earlier.
#MarineTraffic playback shows visible behavioural changes across the region over the past three days, including U-turns, idling, reduced speeds, and last-minute diversions, particularly after maritime security warnings were issued. The vessel, the 132-meter #Fitburg flying the flag of #Saint_Vincent_and_the_Grenadines, was en route from #St_Petersburg to the #Israeli port of #Haifa, according to #MarineTraffic.
The ship was spotted by a patrol vessel and a border guard helicopter and was ordered to move into #Finnish territorial waters. Fourteen crew members were detained.
Earlier, on the morning of December 31, telecom operator #Elisa reported a malfunction in one of its cables.

That's a lot of vessels in the Gulf - and some number of them will want to exit.
If there are any U.S. Navy ships in there - I don't believe they will accept a closure - so expect some level of fire fight.
Wondering how Israel did not forsee this and did not attack the naval resources there.
