Italian News by RSSIl Tempo: Luppi (Msd): "Per Italia più attrattiva Testo unico e no payback"
Roma, 4 mar. (Adnkronos Salute) - "Il valore del settore farmaceutico e della ricerca, motore di crescita e competitività, va rimesso al centro. Per farlo bisogna rendere l'Italia e l'Europa ancora più attrattive e la prima azione da fare è eliminare il payback farmaceutico. Ne parliamo da anni e siamo arrivati a un livello di insostenibilità totale: dobbiamo agire concretamente. La revisione del Testo unico della farmaceutica può essere uno strumento per mettere fine a questo odioso fardello che risulta un freno anche dal punto di vista burocratico, oltre che sostanziale". Lo ha detto Nicoletta Luppi, presidente e amministratrice delegata di Msd Italia, intervenendo oggi a Roma all'ottava edizione di 'Investing for Life Health Summit', durante il quale sono stati presentati i risultati dell'indagine 'Priorità e aspettative degli italiani per un nuovo Ssn'.
A proposito del convegno, Luppi afferma che si tratta di "un appuntamento importante perché, con grande senso di urgenza, dobbiamo portare all'attenzione delle Istituzioni e della società civile alcuni temi che devono essere affrontati con azioni concrete". Tra questi c'è anche "la grande opportunità di restituire il valore ai farmaci innovativi attraverso un processo di valutazione che davvero restituisca un'analisi accurata secondo soglie riconosciute a livello internazionale" per arrivare anche a riconoscere "un prezzo adeguato a tutta l'innovazione e alla sostenibilità che tali farmaci portano".
Una "grande opportunità - prosegue - è quella di accelerare l'accesso all'innovazione per tutti i pazienti, anche a livello regionale". Riferendosi a quanto "detto dal presidente di Farmindustria, Marcello Cattani", Luppi evidenzia come sia "inaccettabile che questo possa essere determinato dal Cap di provenienza del singolo cittadino". Inoltre, su impulso dell'Unione europea, il numero uno di Msd ha ribadito l'importanza di "considerare finalmente la prevenzione come investimento e non più come una spesa in conto capitale. Questo permetterebbe di stralciare dalla spesa corrente quel miliardo e 300mila euro dell'immunizzazione e degli screening. In questo modo - conclude - si può iniziare a mitigare quel payback che resta la priorità numero uno per tornare a essere competitivi, offrendo non solo un sano invecchiamento in buona salute, ma anche prosperità alle generazioni future".

To do this, Italy and Europe must become even more attractive, and the first step is to eliminate pharmaceutical payback. We’ve been talking about this for years and we’ve reached a total level of unsustainability: we need to act concretely. The revision of the Unified Text for Pharmaceuticals can be a tool to put an end to this odious burden that also constitutes a brake from a bureaucratic point of view, as well as substantive.” This was said by Nicoletta Luppi, President and CEO of Msd Italia, speaking today in Rome at the eighth edition of ‘Investing for Life Health Summit’, during which the results of the survey ‘Priorities and expectations of Italians for a new NHS’ were presented.
Regarding the conference, Luppi states that it is “an important appointment because, with a great sense of urgency, we must bring to the attention of Institutions and civil society some themes that must be addressed with concrete actions.” Among these is “the great opportunity to return value to innovative medicines through an evaluation process that truly provides an accurate analysis according to internationally recognized thresholds” to also recognize “a fair price for all innovation and the sustainability that these medicines bring.”
A “great opportunity” – she continues – “is to accelerate access to innovation for all patients, even at the regional level.” Referring to what was said by the President of Farmindustria, Marcello Cattani, Luppi highlights that it is “unacceptable that this can be determined by the head of the individual citizen.” Furthermore, at the urging of the European Union, the top executive of Msd reaffirmed the importance of “finally considering prevention as an investment and not as a capital expenditure. This would allow us to eliminate from current spending the one billion and 300 thousand euros of immunization and screening. In this way – she concludes – we can begin to mitigate that payback which remains the number one priority to return to competitiveness, offering not only healthy aging in good health, but also prosperity for future generations.”
