I have a newsletter out today, wherein I attempt an introduction to the work of Tacoma, Washington poet Robert Lashley, touching on e e cummings and Amiri Baraka along the way.
The cover photo is a few years old, probably taken around LA's Fashion District or South Central. Probably shot with a Pentax Super Program on Ilford HP5+ film.
The newsletter, like the photo, is a bit melancholy, but not without its bright spots. I'm feeling the loss of so many right now, caught up the incredible violence of our government's white nationalist fantasy.
I publish these on a seasonal rhythm as an enticement to myself to promote my #ManualTherapy practice—an activity that otherwise feels hopelessly mundane and unwelcome. The effort I put in is far greater than whatever financial return I get from flogging my artistic tastes in the face of my clients, so if you are inspired to share, comment, or subscribe, please feel free to make my day.
