Een heldin in mijn ogen, Manizha Talash, een breakdancer die het vluchtelingenteam vertegenwoordigt, werd vrijdag gediskwalificeerd voor de B-Girl breaking-competitie op de Olympische Spelen in Parijs, omdat ze tijdens haar ronde een cape liet zien met de tekst 'Vrije Afghaanse vrouwen'. Een betere boodschap kun je niet afgeven.

Every time one gains some good feelings for the Olympics, the IOC and its associated federations make sure to perform another tone deaf stunt. The latest was to disqualify this refugee athlete for the fact that she is a refugee who wants to help her compatriots, other Afghan women.
