Mentre tutti attendono l'esito dei negoziati, in Iran non c'è stato un cessate il fuoco da parte del regime rispetto al popolo iraniano. Siamo disposti a sacrificare la nostra vita per liberarci ma è importante capire che storicamente nel mondo i regimi sono stati abbattuti grazie al supporto esterno. È accaduto con Nelson Mandela e con Solidarnosc ad esempio. Gli iraniani meritano lo stesso sostegno. C’è inoltre una comunanza di interessi con il presidente Zelensky e con l’Ucraina, loro lottano contro un occupante straniero, noi contro un occupante interno”. Lo ha dichiarato il principe Reza Ciro Pahlavi, figlio dello scià deposto dalla rivoluzione del 1979, durante un incontro organizzato presso il Centro studi americani di Roma, in occasione della sua visita in Italia.

While everyone is awaiting the outcome of negotiations, there has been no ceasefire from the regime in Iran regarding the Iranian people. We are willing to sacrifice our lives to be free, but it is important to understand that historically, regimes in the world have been overthrown thanks to external support. This happened with Nelson Mandela and with Solidarnosc for example. The Iranians deserve the same support. There is also a common interest with President Zelensky and Ukraine, they are fighting against a foreign occupier, we are fighting against an internal occupier.” This was stated by Prince Reza Cyrus Pahlavi, son of the Shah deposed by the 1979 revolution, during a meeting organized at the American Studies Center in Rome, on the occasion of his visit to Italy.

Sto parlando del primo ministro Netanyahu e del presidente Trump. Come iraniani non pensiamo che Israele o gli Stati Uniti o qualunque altro paese debba fare il lavoro per noi. Tutto quello che abbiamo chiesto è: aiutateci ad avere un situazione di parità. Perché di fronte a un regime che utilizza gli omicidi è molto difficile per noi superare quell'approccio. Nel frattempo continuano gli arresti, le torture, le detenzioni e gli omicidi. Nessuno presta attenzione a questo aspetto. Il fatto che il popolo iraniano stia soffrendo è assente dalle discussioni. Il popolo iraniano deve essere liberato e bisogna ripristinare l'accesso a internet. Si tratta di elementi importanti perché gli iraniani non devono rimanere fuori dell'equazione. A quel tavolo non hanno voce, voi potete essere la loro voce al tavolo dei negoziati”.

In the meantime arrests, torture, detentions and killings continue. No one pays attention to this aspect. The fact that the Iranian people are suffering is absent from the discussions. The Iranian people must be freed and access to the internet must be restored. These are important elements because the Iranians must not be left out of the equation. At that table they have no voice, you can be their voice at the negotiating table.”
