i hate mandalorians in this fucking show. half of them never sat a fucking foot on their home planet, they venerate an idealized and bastardized view of their culture, ignoring all of the wrongs that caused their downfalls long before the empire. they're like a bunch of white "united staters" dudes larping about their viking european origins or whatever the hell they're imagining themselves as.
and the worst part? the show doesn't call them out on how fucking asinine their dumbass traditions and conservative views about their history are! because the writers are too proud of themselves!
mandalorians are now just your average fantasy warrior culture wearing cool armors with jet pack and that's it.
oh and the whole darksaber shit is fucking non sense too, by the way! it has killed so many of them and they, at no fucking point, question if maybe this medieval bullshit of a tradition isn't what is creating the never ending cycle of violence that follows them everywhere...
the fact that din djarin still wants to hangout with these assholes is atrounding to me! the dude brought back the legendary darksaber and they kicked him out because he showed his face?! and instead of having an interesting story about moving on from that culture, way of life and ostracization, he begs them to take him back and they tell him to go bathe in the waters of mandalore, which is supposed to be their galaxy's equivalent of chernobyl! AND HE ACTUALLY FUCKING DOES IT!
WHY?!
for the same reasons why grogu came back after luke made the exact same fucking mistakes than the jedi order of the prequels even though he is supposed to know better!
because "tHiS tHe WaY"
we can't have evolution or progress in this universe because the writers were too busy jerking themselves off to their warriors fantasy and disney is so conservative they're even scared of fictional change!
star wars iconography that has remained the exact same for fucking centuries in universe and more than a decade in real life, because nothing can ever fucking change or evolve in modern star wars.
