Just looked at this and all I could think of was "Harmony of the Five Races" 五族共和 propaganda from #Manchukuo, and Kari Shepherdson-Scott's analysis of the photomontages that were used to produce it: "These bodies do not inhabit the same space. Rather, they were drawn, composed, and pasted into a multiethnic community. They touched only in fiction. Harmony, then, became associated with distance."
