Quality of life issues. Building maintenance schedules. Boring things, but #Mamdani's focus on fixing is inspiring.
Inspections on buildings younger than 40 years will drop to 3-year visual checks, then manual facade inspections (read: scaffolding) only every 12 years (was 5).
Distance of scaffolding to decrease, improving life (and risk?) on the ground for pedestrians.

#Mamdani’s got more support here today, to clear for our coming storms, very encouraging for us midtown folks. After the Times Square revamp, 9th avenue was transformed (2009) w/ downtown traffic; trees died, four lanes there for a while…
So to see the bike lanes, plantings, and now this ongoing maintenance is encouraging. Sewer Socialism, *in deed*…

The press accusing #Mamdani of squeezing middle class prompted me to post this instead.
TL;DR: He gets no credit for framing the debate on A) tax equity w the state & B) taxing those making $1M/ yr, in order to fairly balance the budget.
This is his 1) preliminary budget/ he's met w state leaders re: tax hikes(!) And we're not at the 2) executive or 3) adopted budget.

Zohran says this, other budget mysteries, have handed his administration a "poisoned chalice". He promises taxes on the rich & cuts to wasteful programs like the chatbot, to balance the budget going forward -- he needs to close a $12B gap!
