The press accusing #Mamdani of squeezing middle class prompted me to post this instead.
TL;DR: He gets no credit for framing the debate on A) tax equity w the state & B) taxing those making $1M/ yr, in order to fairly balance the budget.
This is his 1) preliminary budget/ he's met w state leaders re: tax hikes(!) And we're not at the 2) executive or 3) adopted budget.
