Projektidee:
Die Kinder lernen geometrische Figuren kennen und beschreiben diese. Im weiteren Verlauf entwickeln sie in Kleingruppen für sie dazu passende Klänge (Stimme, Body Percussion, Orff-Instrumentarium, Alltagsgeräusche) und nehmen sie auf.
Mithilfe des Makey Makey werden die aufgenommenen Klänge den entsprechenden geometrischen Figuren zugeordnet.

Beispiel Nummer 2: Die interaktive Weltkarte
Die Projektarbeit gliedert sich in eine umfassende Unterrichtsreihe der vierten Jahrgangsstufe. Zunächst finden sich die Kinder in Gruppen zusammen und wählen ein Land, das sie vertiefend vorstellen möchten. Mithilfe eines von Lehrkräften bereitgestellten digitalen Steckbriefs recherchieren die Gruppen die notwendigen Informationen.
Die gesammelten Daten werden anschließend in einem flüssigen, zusammenhängenden Text formuliert. Er wird von der Gruppe vertont und digital als Audiodatei gespeichert.
Im letzten Schritt erfolgt die technische Umsetzung mit dem Makey Makey: Eine Reißzwecke wird in das gewählte Land auf der physischen Karte gesteckt und per Krokodilklemme mit einem Eingang des Makey Makey verbunden. Die vertonte Information wird am Computer mit diesem Tastendruck verknüpft und abgespielt.

Unterrichtsreihe: Orientierung im Raum – Wege finden, Karten lesen, Richtungen verstehen
Der Roboter Thymio möchte sich in einem Raum zurechtfinden. Dafür muss er wissen, wo er ist und in welche Richtung er sich bewegt. Thymio kann sich nach links, nach rechts, nach vorn und zurück bewegen.
Um Wege geografisch richtig zu beschreiben, nutzt man Himmelsrichtungen: Norden, Süden, Osten und Westen. Sie helfen einem, sich auch auf Karten oder in größeren Räumen besser zu orientieren. Mithilfe von Thymio lernen die SuS, Wege zu planen und sich sicher im Raum zu bewegen.

Zweimal im Jahr kommen die Frankfurter LiV (Lehrer_innen im Vorbereitungsdienst) für GHRF zu Beginn des Einführungssemesters bei uns im Makerspace vorbei bzw. wir besuchen sie im Seminar. Dort sprechen wir über Maker Education und Medienbildung und zeigen ihnen gerne mehr als "irgendwas mit Tablet".
Danach haben sie Gelegenheit, die von uns mitgebrachte Tüfteltechnik auszuprobieren und in kleinen Gruppen ein Medienprojekt zu entwickeln.
An diesem Projekt arbeiten sie in den nächsten 8 Wochen und stellen danach die Ergebnisse allen anderen bei einer großen gemeinsamen Veranstaltung vor.
Wir unterstützen die angehenden Lehrer_innen bei ihrer Projektfindung, ermöglichen ihnen, im Makerspace mit uns gemeinsam daran zu tüfteln und sind selbstverständlich auch bei der Präsentation dabei.

Successful 3D printing projects require planning. Students must consider print time, material usage, and design revisions. Long prints introduce patience and accountability. A failed eight-hour print is a powerful lesson in preparation and testing.
Classroom environments that treat printers as shared resources also teach workflow management and collaboration. Students learn to schedule prints, optimize designs, and respect constraints. These habits translate well into professional environments where time and resources matter.
Communication and Technical Explanation
3D printing projects often require students to explain their designs, defend decisions, and document changes. This builds technical communication skills. Students learn to describe why they chose a certain geometry or material thickness and how they solved specific problems.
