Got a joiner doing some work. Yesterday the dust bag on his electric plainer got all shredded by the belt. Shoddy bit of work from Bosch really- the seams of the bag were not taped or serged or anything- no good for dust and lots of loose threads to get caught in the zip or belt. He was annoyed. An hour with the sewing kit last night and it's all fixed up. Saved him £30 and a trip to the merchants. I'll try and get a photo when I'm out of bed. #VisibleMending #kindness #MakeDoAndMend

Spent the evening watching The Lost Boys (1987)(first watch for both of us, that was a TRIP) and patching up a tear on spouse’s pants. First time using a speedweve, there’s some things I learned (should have marked out the square before I started and should have made sure the two colored threads were the same weight) but overall reasonably successful.

In March 2021 I made the first of many many pinafore dresses. It was made from cotton from Annas Bali Batik , which was a gift from my friend Anna Olsson. And it is one of the garments that I have made that I have used the most; like almost every day.
So it was unavoidable that it would get very worn, and a year ago the fabric in the bodice (which of course has the most strain on it) tore. I put it in the "mend" pile. And finally it happened! I started on it yesterday evening, and now it is finished.
