Like it says: Trump's executive order on mail voting is plainly unconstitutional

President Donald Trump made a series of false claims about elections in a Monday social media post in which he pledged to “lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS” and voting machines – including an inaccurate assertion that states have to run elections in the manner the president tells them to.
Mail-in voting is the best. Love that we've had it in Utah for over a decade now. Even if we got rid of the "mail-in" part and required dropping it off at city drop boxes it would still be awesome. Voting when you have the time is pro-democracy.
Keeping in mind that the political parties have swapped roles - Republicans were the "liberals" in Lincoln's time - don't the partisan objections to #MailVoting sound awfully familiar?
From the article:
... #Republicans, led by President Abraham Lincoln, wanted to let Union soldiers vote from the battlefield. The opposition #Democrats balked. They warned of rampant fraud and "a scheme" by Republicans "to gain some great advantage to their party," as one Wisconsin state senator put it before the legislature voted on party lines to become the first state to legalize absentee #voting.
...
During the Civil War ... most states that allowed soldiers to vote — only Republican-controlled ones, given Democrats' objections — did so through the mail ....
... there are no proven instances of widespread fraud among soldiers of the Civil War or any later conflicts, according to experts.
Still, the politics are real.
Keep an eye on your ballot and vote in person if you have to.
This kind of work should never have been sourced out to private vendors, which is a Trump/Republican goal for every important public service we have. #NewYork #MailVoting #ProtectTheVote
Numerous New Yorkers reported Monday that they’d received mixed-up return envelopes, which would invalidate their votes if they tried to mail them in:
