As someone who has "cured" my diabetes (it's not cured, just controlled) through diet, this is quite correct. RFKJr doesn't understand science or nutrition. He looks for simple solutions to complex problems, which is why he is dangerous and most of his initiatives fail. I can tell you first hand that controlling diabetes through diet is extremely complex and can be thrown completely off by adding just one variable that is off (as shown by my recent experience with coffee creamer). Just eating a bunch of red meat and cooking shit in beef tallow ain't gonna do it.
However, I do think that there should be more focus on diabetes control through diet and that attacking diabetes in this way is far preferable than having to go the medication route. Often medications are necessary, though, and controlling diabetes with diet is often impractical due to finances or other environmental or situational barriers. #diabetes #MAHA

RFK Jr. told Native American tribal leaders that Type 2 diabetes is curable through diet. His message of personal responsibility is overly simplistic and disregards the social determinants of health and diet and the critical importance of access to healthcare in preventing and treating diabetes.

U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has refused to release a cruise ship passenger exposed to hantavirus from a quarantine facility in Nebraska. The decision comes despite a federal medical review finding that confining her far from her Florida home is unnecessary. Public health law expert Lawrence Gostin calls the decision an egregious violation of her rights. Angela Perryman, the passenger, has been symptom-free for five weeks. She remains detained as of Tuesday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended she be allowed to quarantine at home. Kennedy's order, signed Monday, insists confinement is necessary to protect public health.

President Donald Trump's remodeled Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has turned chartreuse from an algal bloom. Park service workers are struggling to address the issue days after its more than $14 million renovation. The pool, completed and refilled earlier this month, was meant to be an azure expanse. However, it faces harsh challenges from chemistry and biology. The pool is larger than 10 Olympic-sized pools and uses water from the often-fetid Tidal Basin. Algae has plagued the site for over 100 years. Workers are using chemicals and ozone nanobubbles to combat the algae. Experts suggest draining and refilling the pool with fresh water.

So much for MAHA.
