It turns out there was a major circus train crash where I placed their fictional town. I seriously had to resist the urge to give all the historic details because, as you know, that stuff really bogs down flow at the table. #WorldOfDarkness
Peter Kisner ≈@AidanB @shannonmcmaster I keep meaning to work on a flexible universal magic system, like Mage: the Ascension, but attached to an overall simpler game system.
But along the way I get distracted by the D&D and OSR systems my friends seem into, and end up working on that instead.
Recurring themes for me are:
* Make high level spells available at low levels.
* Magic is either risky, costly, or weak.

@thegiftofgabes With my players, I distinguish between the facts of the story at hand (most #MageTheAsecension games have an element of mystery) and the facts of the world. If my players are lost on the facts at hand, I've been too vague and need to help them find a direction through planting more obvious clues. If they think the insane mage is a ghost, I don't correct them, because discovering the wild world they live in is part of the joy.
@epilanthanomai @BugbearPancakes I have a weekly #MageTheAsecension game already so anything else is something I'd prefer as limited runs, but I'd especially especially love to try a short run on #OwnCast because I feel like it's time to show you can do good #TTRPG streaming without big corporate platforms
@Nenad I actually Storytell #MagetheAsecension already, but it's a recurring weekly game with my partners and I'm kinda at Storyteller saturation running it.
