I started working on another quasi-historical abstract strategy game similar to my other creations, #Maerstanas and #Oferhlyp. The first draft of #Cyngesheall is kind of like a "diagonal Hnefetafl" but we'll see where it goes after a bit of playtesting.

After working on the multiplayer Django implementation of #Maerstanas for a while, I returned to the other abstract strategy game I created. I rewrote the original terminal-based version of #Oferhlyp and now have a functioning game built with #Flask. It still needs some improvements before I deploy it, but it's progress!

I've added two bots to the Django version of Maerstanas. One simply plays random moves; the other uses weighted moves with simulation to "decide" what to play. (Note that you still need an account to play bot games due to the implementation.)

...and it's live! I just deployed a Django-based platform for playing the abstract strategy game, Maerstanas, against other users in an asynchronous manner. Not much to see yet since I'm the only user, but I hope people come check it out. This is the initial beta launch so expect some rough edges; feedback is welcome!

I've slowly been working on a #Django implementation of #Maerstanas. It'll be asynchronous (think: PBEM style) since the game itself is new and may not attract too many players yet. There are still a few things I need to implement, but I'm hoping to deploy an early version before the end of the year.

A new version of Mǽrstánas is live! The biggest change is the introduction of difficulty selection for the computer opponent and a framework for adding "personalities" which have their own strategies and preferences.

Mǽrstánas

I'm toying with the idea of making different computer opponents with varying "personalities" for Mǽrstánas. I don't mean in any sort of AI sense, but a weighting system for playing certain moves to have the computer play more human-like rather than simply making random moves.
