GourdMacross Frontier: I can't say I like it as much as 7 (it has the same goofy space music stuff but in a tone that supports it much less on top of not liking the art style) but I do need to share the single greatest moment of it so far: sudden musical theater number of dueling idol singers while a man has a petrifying fear of heterosexuality to it.

Almost halfway through, Macross Frontier fundamentally suffers compared to Macross 7 for me because of the fact I think idol singers are so much less cool than rock bands.
It does have the third best Macross soundtrack out of the six Macross things I've seen so far, which sounds middling until youy realize it's behind the unfairly stacked competition of Macross 7 and Macross Plus. :P
(Macross Plus and Frontier are both Yoko Kanno soundtracks, but Plus just has the incredibly cool unearthly alien evil Hatsune Miku soundtrack to pull it ahead.)
