Atkinson no solo programaba: comprimía elegancia, velocidad y creatividad en código.

Una de sus anécdotas más famosas ocurrió cuando, tras optimizar QuickDraw, reportó 2000 líneas de código menos, demostrando que programar mejor no siempre significa escribir más.

Su legado sigue vivo en cada editor gráfico, cada interfaz visual y cada herramienta que convierte una computadora en un espacio creativo.

On BlueSky I came across somebody (Dustin Mierau; https://github.com/mierau) who created a modern Mac app that has the look and feel of the original #MacPaint. He hasn't released it yet, so I guess we won't be able to play with it this #MARCHintosh. But I for one keep my eyes peeled and will try it as soon as possible. (Sorry; the alt text is wrong. From July of last year, the blog called decryption posted a bunch of wondrous examples of 1-bit MacPaint art from the early days of the platform.
