Maariv criticizes Netanyahu, saying he has no right to claim ignorance about the Gaza war's consequences. The newspaper calls for an immediate halt to the war and a reevaluation of military strategies. 🚨⚔️ #GazaWar #Netanyahu #Maariv #StopTheWar

This is overrated. The news story is about an NGO that appeals to the attorney general for initiating the said procedure. It is (still?) not any branch of government initiating such a procedure.
#Maariv is a somewhat right-leaning newspaper. Owned by the Eli Azur. I read this as a framing of the story intended to flame / troll right-wing people.
Here's the discussion in it (Hebrew) in rotter.net:

Quoting Hanin Majadli on Israel's moral crisis:
Israeli public's silence on #Gaza civilian deaths reflects a deeper moral crisis. Even those opposing the war fear acknowledging Gazans as human. Recent attack reportedly killed 400 civilians including 200 children, yet mainstream media labeled victims as "operatives." Majadli questions how Israelis can demand democracy while ignoring "inconceivable human price" paid in Gaza, suggesting this contradiction stems from decades of "militaristic racist indoctrination." The piece challenges anti-war Israelis to speak up despite potential backlash.
[...] It's already impossible to distinguish between things in Israel. It's impossible to distinguish the media from the public. Because even those who oppose the war are afraid to say that Gazans are human, too. Because it's impossible to separate the pilot from the bomb. He's told to push the button and he pushes it. The majority of the people not only tolerate mass slaughter, but demand it, either explicitly or tacitly.
[...] How is it possible to insist on freedom and justice without any reference to the inconceivable human price of this war? How it is possible to devalue life in Gaza, which has become so cheap for Jews in Israel, while simultaneously calling for the preservation of Israeli democracy? Exactly what democracy are we talking about? One that carries on its back such enormous, terrible destruction every day?

On March 17-18, an Israeli airstrike killed 436 Palestinians according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Among the dead: 183 children, 94 women, and 34 elderly people over 65. The attack began at 2:20 AM during Ramadan when many were preparing for suhoor meal. Israeli media described it as "one of the greatest preemptive operations in military history". Channel 12 News claimed "400 militants killed" while Maariv reported "300 terrorists liquidated".

Why did Brussels give VIP treatment to an Israeli war criminal?
