Xauri'EL ZwaanI'm doing pretty good in my self-imposed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles diet. Haven't bought the mastery pass or any cosmetics, haven't spent my free orbs or opened my free packs, no TMNT draft or sealed, haven't burned any wildcards on any kind of ninja turtle whatsoever. I've also been avoiding consuming Ninja Turtles content from creators as a signal that I as the audience don't want to hear about this stuff. It helps that the cost to get all the cosmetics (not even counting lands, which I never buy anyway) is OVER 40000 GOLD or 10000 GEMS, for chrissake. The one thing I didn't anticipate is that without opening any packs I don't get any fresh wildcards, so it's becoming difficult to build or refine decks. I could dump all the gold I'm saving into packs of other stuff but I've got a lot saved and I really want to put most of it into flashback drafts. Got about a month to go until Secrets of Strixhaven and the temptation is getting worse every day to just dip my toes in a little, perhaps open the packs and grab an avatar or two. But that way lies nothing but shame and disgrace #MTGArena
I made a fun-as-hell Azorius Prowess deck built around Lam, Storm-Crane Elder for Slow Start Alchemy MWM. He's the only creature and it's filled with cheap interaction and card draw/selection. I can get a Lam pretty consistently and if he sticks on the field he goes absolutely friggin' nuts. I'm going to take out a few of the less impactful cards and put in 4x Dragoon's Lance and Astrologian's Planisphere for a few more threats, but I think it could actually be competitive n the ladder. #MTGArena

Did an Aftermath flashback draft yesterday, and I *somehow* won the first game despite three, count 'em, THREE mulligans (all three hands had only mana of one colour and cards of the other). I ended up in a pretty decent Orzhov sacrifice deck with a ton of those phyrexian-mana transforming creatures, but honestly the fact that the other player didn't get their third land drop for like four turns probably helped, lol. The gods of RNG were against us both that day #MTG #MTGArena
Weird Pick 2 trophy run with mono-blue, of all things; the white cards in the image are the deck I could have made before realizing it was easier to just cut them all out. This deck did some silly things while drawing a ton of cards, but my first-pick Don & Leo never hit the field.
Ran back BW for another #MTGxTMNT Pick 2 4-1. Lost to Leatherhead, because Hexproof is still a stupid mechanic. #magicthegathering #mtgarena

Tried to make the Mardu Blight deck work in MWM On The Edge and got utterly wrecked by Izzet Lessons the whole time. The creatures that use up blight counters are just too expensive and too understatted when they come in. Had probably a dozen of my Gnarlback Elms eat an immediate Firebending Lesson over the course of the event. Didn't even get the full 3 wins before I gave up in frustration. A whole frickin' pack's worth of rare wildcards I sank into this hoping I could make it do the thing. #MTGArena

I suppose I have a few days before everyone on Arena starts playing decks designed to beat it, I'll see if I can take advantage of that time 😀
