After the huge success of Debian on the #OpenStick LTE USB dongle three years ago, I wondered if you can still get MSM8916-based LTE routers to run Debian on. The search results on AliExpress piqued me: there is a new 17β¬ device with a color LCD screen!

Are there still OpenStick compatible / rootable MSM8916 LTE modems out there? I've heard multiple reports of people bricking theirs, and it seems like you need to watch out for the right PCB version: https://wvthoog.nl/openstick/

I'm currently working on a project with the `FY_UZ801_V3.2` #MIFI Stick based on the #Snapdragon 410 (#MSM8916) and am now stuck with #modem problems
The board came with android preinstalled.
I then flashed #OpenWrt on it and configured the modem using the 5 modem partitions I dumped earlier with #EDL
That worked well, but then I recognized that the modem is not able to alter the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions after flashing WRT
Has anybody an idea how to fix this?

And yes, this is still all just to compile #Mesa so I can debug it in #GDB and figure out why #Firefox' #WebRender causes those funky artifacts on #Freedreno (#Adreno 306, #MSM8916)

@postmarketOS finally, internal ROM + SDCard mixed. now i have a large, around 45GB disk space with custom partition to install everything needed plus 4GB swap file.
