Inside LeidenForce: One Year of European Research on the Leidenfrost Effect – Interview with Coordinator Stéphane Dorbolo

For the past year, the Horizon Europe-funded consortium LeidenForce has been studying the Leidenfrost effect with the goal of understanding and ultimately controlling it. To mark LeidenForce’s first anniversary, we spoke with Stéphane Dorbolo, project coordinator, based at the Université de Liège (PTyX laboratory, FNRS). A specialist in fluid physics and soft matter, he studies droplets and granular materials in collaboration with several international research teams. In this interview, he... Read more

#MSCA researcher V. Ocqueteau has written the “Analysis of a Model for a Floating Platform Coupled with a Flexible Beam”. In the paper, he establishes well-posedness and derives an energy balance for the model.

The results contribute to modelling offshore applications such as offshore floating flare towers, crane vessels, meteorological masts and, most notably, wind turbines.

Currently, Vicente is staying @DLR for three months, working on simulations of the model.

Last week, ModConFlex researchers and professors from Besançon, Twente and Wuppertal met at the Franco-German Doctoral College at Wuppertal.

It was a great opportunity to talk and exchange with more recent and long-term members of the PHS community.

I am happy to announce that I have received a Marie Skłodowska Curie Global fellowship! My lab is going to be at CalTech, USA.

#Californians here on the #Fediverse , I hope to bump into you nice folks sometime. I could use some pointers on how to navigate the place and the system while I'm there. In exchange, I can make some #chai for you!

This year, the #EuropeanCommission invested €404.3 million to support 1610 post-doctoral #MSCA #research projects. They received 6836 eligible applications! Researchers receiving a mark of "excellence" still might not have made it, as some discplines required an evaluation score of 97%! #IchBinHanna

Happy 30th anniversary to the @mscactions ! 🎉

@ZooCELL we are proud to be part of this programme, committed to training excellent scientists and driving knowledge forward.
