Well, the garden dig continues..
Today was mostly spent clearing undergrowth so as to extend the dig area... parsley anyone? I've cleared a lot of flat leafed parsley. Don't worry, there is plenty more.. it has self seeded everywhere

Tabbouleh is on the menu tomorrow

Another ¼ m² excavated with little treasures like a piece 10mm of rubber car/bike tire unearthed and a shard of white glazed pottery [possibly from an ancient garden pot???]

It has been a spectacular spring day here... 23°c and sunny

The archaeological dig is progressing (slowly) , and around 1m² of weed barrier has been carefully unearthed. It appears that the ancient builders overlapped the barrier sheets, ensuring good coverage. The pattern is a small black on black check, subtle, and barely damaged by age

Instead of a SWfmMH I decided to dig up and move my pineapple plants.
Ugh, I now know why they weren't doing too well - I struck weed mat, there was a layer of weed mat about 30cm below the soil

It's going to take a bit of effort to remove!!!
I estimate that about 9 m³ of soil will need to be moved to get the mat out

Good exercise ⛏️ for the next week or so...

Hopefully your Monday has been the sort of Monday that you need it to be

The two little dinosaurs 🦕 🐦 are foraging in their breakfast bowl for the "best bits" and letting the outside birds know how good it is... there was not much play time this morning as they are hungry little birbs

I'm home early today
Treat time for G&T 🐦 🦕

This morning, G was making a right fuss when it was time to go into the cage for breakfast. She was getting very upset with me. I'd forgotten to peg open the side door so she couldn't "sneak" into the cage.
