A month ago I finally received a #picocalc #microcontroller based handheld from #clockworkpi. I hoped to recapture some of the fun of my first computer, an #Apple2e. The rub is-- I really didn't do much programming in basic.
#mmbasic is well documented and looks great. But I have not found any inspiration yet. Does anyone have a fun resource for messing with Basic?
#picomite is pretty powerful, fast, easy and FUN!
New RP2350B board just dropped: really designed for MMBasic, but will likely do for MicroPython:
PicoMite RP2350B DIL Development board, 16Mb flash + 8 MB PSRAM — https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?FID=16&TID=17736
Got one, still stock with the #Pico H module.
#BASIC, with a tiny keyboard and screen, bring immediacy to tinkering and exploring.
That's fun!
Con: limited documentation of the PicoCalc variant of #MMBasic makes it difficult to find out what is possible.
That's frustrating.
"Can I do graphics with the GUI widgets?"
"Can I play sound from audio files?"
"Would there be a way to listen to a microphone?"
"Would a touchscreen work?"
