#WIPWednesday : I'm finally remaking the lace for my colonial cap. I put one of my first lace projects on it before, but I'm better now! And I found a lace that is more period- and region-appropriate.
I think it needs to be a smidge smaller still, so one more iteration to come. But this is fine for now.
I reverse engineered the pattern from this #MFABoston cap.
The Winslow Homer exhibit at #MFABoston is really good,ยน & given watercolorsโ sensitivity to light, they only tend to display the collection every 40-50 years. No pressure; it runs through Jan 19.
If like me you dabble in watercolor, nothing can replace in-person. ๐จ๐

Good Morning!
We'll continue #BloomScrolling for several days by looking at the Rachael Ruysch paintings on exhibit at #mfaboston This is: Fruit Still Life with Stag Beetle and Nest, 1717 by Rachael Ruysch. 1717 ! Let that sink in. This woman was a world renowned painter and botanist in the 1700s. And, she lived to be 85 when the average life expectancy was 58. #amazing #painting #botany #museum #GoodMorning
