The former captain and Rossoneri director, architect of the 2022 Scudetto victory, could actually take on a managerial role at the Turkish club in the event of Hakan Safi winning the presidential elections on June 6th and 7th.
According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, on Saturday, May 23rd Maldini met Safi in Istanbul to discuss “planning and football strategy.” This summit was also confirmed by the former Rossoneri technical director himself, who yesterday posted a photo with the Fenerbahçe presidential candidate on social media accompanied by words that were not overlooked: “Wonderful stay in Istanbul with Hakan Safi.” And still: “A great football mind, a passionate leader, and, most importantly, a true friend.
