This is the Lowland Streaked Tenrec.

Native to the wondrous island of Madagascar, this little cutie jumps and, with aid of their sensory hair, they locate their worms and other invertebrae to snack on.

They are the only mammal known to use stridulation for making sound! No squeaks or shouts from this little floof; they clued in to their insect homies and borrowed some evolutionary tricks.

Weighing in at around 200g, and approximately 14cm in length (which is perfectly acceptable, fellas), this friend-shaped muncher will scare any bug that crosses its path. And if anything scares it, spiky quills will make themselves known!
