I had a time making a part for my new lathe. It was educational.
Lathe crimes absolutely pay. This came out better than I could've reasonably hoped. Very happy.
I had to chop some of the metal away to hold tools at the correct height. I tried to use a HSS milling bit but these tool holders turned out to be hardened steel, and the HSS just got hot and angry. A carbide boring bar in the chuck made short work of it.
