#debian #kde on my old laptop was capable and flexible but didn't engage my senses or emotions. Being an #adhd distro-hopper I decided to see what the new @pop_os_official 24.04 was like, with its new #COSMIC desktop. Review videos made it look really good.
Spoiler: it's really, really nice. Little rough around the edges but the UI feels more tactile and real than KDE somehow. It gets me fired up, makes me _want_ to use it. Wish I could use it on my #Mac...

@stroughtonsmith Before I became a #Mac user, I always felt intimidated by it and how it works. Also, explaining it to new Mac users comes across jarring. 'The menu bar changes depending on the active application' Its not so overwhelming when you embrace the Macs eccentricities and there is something about it being a fundamental part of what makes the Mac unique and early pioneering GUI work. But thats just the tech nerd in me.

Tis rather nice to use an older Macbook though. Feels so incredibly solid, and the keyboard is still loving to use even after 10 years of use.
