Exactly 50 years ago, back in 1975, Lynda Carter embodied Wonder Woman for the first time in "The New Original Wonder Woman".

It was the second pilot attempt at kickstarting an original series, it was also a deliberate effort to stick closer to the character's comic book origins after the first TV movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby, that depicted the character as a blonde, non-superpowered spy in a tracksuit, got mixed reviews. The pilot's strong ratings and positive reception led to a full series production, cementing Lynda Carter's place in pop culture history.
