An atmospheric, misty trip out on Kellys' Hero this morning around #LymeBay with some fabulous company. Highlights: Peregrine, Common Scoter, Gannet, Fulmar, Raven, Guillemot and Razorbill as well as Common Short-beaked Dolphin and Atlantic Grey Seal.

A trip out on Kelly's Hero from #Brixham #Devon this morning brought very close views of Manx Shearwater & Gannet and, for most of the 4 hours, Short-beaked Common Dolphin were visible. Everyone was smiling!

Large numbers of Gannet, my first Great Skua of the year along with Harbour Porpoise, Short-beaked Common Dolphin.... AND, for my first time ever, White-beaked Dolphin (Lagenorhynchus albirostris). Great company too. Proper job.

My Grandson had to look after me today and I thought I would treat him to his first wildlife boat trip into Lyme Bay. To say it worked out well is an understatement. Short-beaked Common Dolphin right beside the boat (his face when he saw his first one is already a treasured memory), Harbour Porpoise further away and a Grey Seal as well as Gannet, Guillemot and Balearic Shearwater. A sunny day here in #Devon and a trip to the seaside with two of the Daves. My first Black-throated Diver of the year started us off nicely but I have to say the close views of Purple Sandpiper and the mother and cub Grey Seal playing together were probably my fave things of the day. Marvellous.

A Northern Gannet lapping the ‘Kelly’s Hero’ on Sunday. The UK’s largest seabird species has taken a pummelling from Avian ‘flu.
Elegant and far-ranging, they are beautiful birds to see at any time.
