Fret crowning.

Are there tools or techniques I can use to do a better job?

I've been using this three-sided file from 'zon, trying to only work the sides, but I have some really low frets that I didn't get very round, and they buzz a little.

I'd rather not pay $110 for a Z-file from stewmac.

(My vision is bad and getting worse; patience is bad but getting better.)

Bridge upgrade on the lawsuit SG.

Fret level for Angrus, the lawsuit SG.
Neck has a bit of back bow near the 7th fret on the treble side, even with the truss rod slack.

(Dag old 50-yo early Japanese electrics aren't perfect today grumble grumble.)

More level, and definitely more shiny.
Now for pickguard and strings. Maybe a snack.

It's done!
(apart from an eventual fret level)
Waiting for the rest of the house to wake up so that I can try it with an amp, but everything works.
Its name is Angrus, in honor of the guy who made every aspiring guitar player want a red SG.

Drill, baby. No wires yet, but places to mount the stuff have been secured.

So, the #brain needed hours to re-devise a series/parallel switch. I think I have it. Now to follow a ten step plan to put it somewhere, connect everything, get phase right, yada, yada.
Drill press in the basement.
I have another project that requires a climbing rope.

ruined another pickup, trying to fit its bobbin into the old pickup. I think I ruined the old pickup, too.
So I said "f--- it," and crammed a cheap neck humbucker in there. Sounds like crap (I may change cap and pots for it, or replace it), but it fits.

Do you know what kind of lever goes on this vibrato tailpiece from a Japanese lawsuit SG from around 1970?
Can you show me a picture of one?
Bonus would be where I could get one. And a proper bridge. And a bridge pickup.

Going to try making a neck cradle or radiused block by passing a board over the table saw diagonally.

Dowelled the strap button hole of the entry-level "Assassin by BGuitars" strat copy I got recently. It's pretty solid now.
(good, cheap, pretty: pick two)
