Dumb #ElectricGuitar question of the day: There is a lot of discussion always about "what scale length do you need to tune down to X", e.g. for Drop G you might want a 27'' or more.

But then I have a 27.5'' guitar tuned to F (or agtually all fifths) and that seems generally reasonable. If I press the 2nd fret there, I have a low G and that is roughly 3 inch from the nut, so if I'd put a capo, I'd have G on a 24.5'' guitar which most people would think is crazy. But it's fine actually. What am I missing?
