The original reason we went on the trip was to see Komodo dragons. So after Le Pirate Island we went back to Labuan Bajo for a couple days and on the first day we took a boat trip. The boat’s first stop was Padar Island which is between Komodo Island and Rinca Island. It’s a popular stop for tours because the bays make for a striking view after hiking to the top

This fish was pretty colorful and I tried to follow it around to get a photo. Unfortunately every photo I got from the side was bad. They were either blurry or I only got half the fish. The only decent photos I got were from the back and of those this was the best. I guess I’ll take what I can get

Le Pirate Island is a small island and there isn’t a ton to do, which is by design. The whole point is to relax. So we spent the days lounging around and snorkeling. It was one of the best places we’ve been for snorkeling off the beach so obviously I took a lot of photos. I’m not a great photographer and worse underwater so a lot of those photos aren’t good but some aren’t bad

Every winter, as snow settles on Winnipeg's Chinatown, the air fills with the scent of incense and the sound of drums. For generations, this season had a name: Chinese New Year. But lately, I've noticed a shift to Lunar New Year.

In the middle of the island is the restaurant area. That area, like most of the island, looks out at the beach. And what a beach it was. There was plenty of seating, most of which was in or near shade. There were enough trees to keep you out of the sun but not so many that they made the beach feel cramped. The sand was really nice. And the water wasn’t too far away so it was nice and quick to get to when you wanted to snorkel

Le Pirate Island is a glamping island and there were a couple of options for tents. This was ours, a glamping sunrise beach front tent. It had a little patio out front with the mats and in the back it had a fenced in area with a sink, toilet, and open air shower. The back also had chests to put your things in and behind the bed there was a desk. The island had more larger tents like this with their own bathroom plus more affordable tents with less space and shared bathrooms
