NASA Announces Artemis III Crew and Ambitious Goals
Can NASA really get Artemis III off the ground in late 2027? Hmmmmm?
Artemis III mission will be a crewed test flight into low earth orbit to assess and trial rendezvous and docking capabilities between the agency’s Orion spacecraft and commercial moon landers from Blue Origin and SpaceX. Artemis II will also evaluate human life support systems.
Reporting suggested that neither lander is likely to be fully ready for a genuine test flight in Artemis III before late 2027 - aka a timeline slip is very likely.
While Mission Plans are still a work in progress in Artemis III astronauts could potentially enter at least one lander. The astronauts for Artemis III have not yet been selected. https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis/artemis-3/nasa-outlines-preliminary-artemis-iii-mission-plans/ #NASA #ArtemisIII #BlueOrigin #SpaceX #LunarLander #Moon #Space #SLS #Orion #SpaceCraft
