Ellis Island, N.Y. - immigrants from "Princess Irene" 1911.

1 photographic print.

Ellis Island is an island in New York Harbor, within the U.S. states of New Jersey and New York. Owned by the U.S. government, Ellis Island was once the busiest immigrant inspection and processing station in the United States. From 1892 to 1954, nearly 12 million immigrants arriving at the Port of New York and New Jersey were processed there; as many as two-fifths of Americans may be descended from these immigrants. It has been part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument since 1965 and is accessible to the public only by ferry. The north side of the island is a national museum of immigration, while the south side of the island, including the Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital, is open to the public through guided tours.

Raw Meat Spills Onto Baggage Carousel At Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport http://dlvr.it/TQ9rjS #aircraft #Airports #baggage #luggage

I saw a thing on YouTube yesterday, I haven't verified it yet, but apparently #TSA and possibly other global agencies, have changed the rules for passenger airline #travel #baggage #luggage, and are imposing much stricter regulations, particularly on size, and will be enforcing the maximum overall limits of 22x14x9 and 18x14x8, inclusive of all projections (handles, wheels, etc).

I know my "personal item" definitely will be fine, as the manufacturer (Travelpro) specifically stated so.

A casual reminder that children under 5 do not require their own rollaboard, hardside #luggage, regardless of how cute they are. Srsly. If you’re going to use their ticketed allocation, stick *them* inside a full-sized carry-on or, better yet, check them all the way through to your destination. #hottraveltips
