born c 1485 ...after 1500, Ludford was a singer at StStephensCollege adjacent to WestminsterPalace. When HenryVIII shut the college down 1547, Ludford was listed as a verger. He was given a pension, which he last drew in 1556, suggesting that he died in 1557. - Edward Higginbottom
