🎭From Micaëla in Carmen to Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Ms. Amara's voice touched millions. She performed the role of Aida 36 times at The MET & throughout the world. In 1986, she performed AIDA for the last time at The MET and also performed at the Baths of Caracalla, San Diego, and San Francisco.❤️

The family of Lucine Amara, née Lucine Armaganian, announces with great sadness the passing of The Metropolitan Opera legend on September 6. Her daughter, Evelyn La Quaif, was with her, when she breathed her last.
A private service took place on Wednesday, September 18 at Glascott Funeral Home in Forest Hills Queens in New York City. A memorial service will be held and announced in the future.
