WP "Four New Works" stellte die Essenz ihres Schaffens der letzten 50J dar.
Mich sprach sie kaum an.
"Geranium '64" mag damals in NYC bahnbrechend gewesen sein (ein American-Football-Spiel mit dem Radiokommentar), Hm.

Mit 84 auf der Bühne mit mitzuwirken (im 2.Teil Geranium '64) ist eine physisch beträchtliche Leistung.

Positiv: ich konnte sie u. ihre Company einmal live erleben. (1

Performance 5: (LA)HORDE, Lucinda Childs, Lasseindra Ninja (yes, THAT bitch).

I am now a #LucindaChilds fan, happy I got to see two more of her pieces (images 1 and 2). (LA)HORDE was back on their slutty schtick again, but I liked them OK in these shorter pieces. “Tik Tok Jazz” (last image) seemed to draw inspiration from Childs, which tempered the humpy 20-year old energy. Respect to Ballet national de Marseille for their versatility.

Performance 1 on our New York #ArtVacation: A recreation of Lucinda Childs’ 1979 collaboration with Philip Glass, “Dance”. Incredible! Hypnotic music, simple repetitive movement, overlaid by film of the same dancers making the same movements.

Apparently a seismic shift when it debuted, it holds up remarkably well. Made me think of animation and gave me all sorts of ideas for my own work. This made the whole trip worthwhile.
