While Netflix users across the globe are tuning in to the final ever episode of Stranger Things, sci-fi fans know that the best sci-fi series on the streamer still has a long life ahead of it. When it’s not canceling great shows after just three seasons, Netflix releases some tremendous original and adapted sci-fi shows. Stranger Things is the most prominent example, while Dark, Altered Carbon, Lost in Space, and 3 Body Problem are all tremendous shows in their own right. But the series that has wowed viewers for four seasons, and shows no signs of slowing down, is Love, Death & Robots.

All four seasons of Love, Death & Robots are streaming on Netflix. The sci-fi anthology first debuted in 2019, back when it felt like Netflix was still talking bold swings with original programming. Co-created by David Fincher and Tim Miller (what a pairing), Love, Death & Robots is an episodic anthology, with each episode telling a short story by a new creative team. The stories told in the series are as diverse as the range of viewers who love the show. Season 1 included farmers fighting off aliens with mech suits and yogurt taking over the world, while the fourth and most recent series included a priest lying about the end of the world and a marionette re-enactment of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. The official synopsis reads:

“This collection of animated short stories spans several genres, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comedy. World-class animation creators bring captivating stories to life in the form of a unique and visceral viewing experience. The animated anthology series includes tales that explore alternate histories, life for robots in a post-apocalyptic city and a plot for world domination by super-intelligent yogurt. Among the show’s executive producers is Oscar-nominated director David Fincher.”

According to the critics, Love, Death & Robots isn’t just consistently good; it keeps getting better and better. Season 1 earned a decent, if unremarkable, 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That jumped to an 82% rating for Season 2. Seasons 3 and 4 then peaked with 100% ratings. As sci-fi fans tend to be, audiences were slightly more critical. But the show still boasts an overall user rating of 71%.
