Hambledown_RoadIt's a small thing - in the scheme of things - but I'm proud to say that I've finished R.D. Blackmore's monumental "Lorna Doone". At 679 pages, it is the longest book I've ever read. It is also a simply outstanding piece of historical fiction.
I'm really pleased too, that I own a 1923 edition of this book. It's a small, nondescript hard cover with beautiful, delicate leaves of paper. I love holding it in my hand.
