I had a doctor's appointment in the morning of 7th July 2005 so by the time I got to the Tube station everything was already shut down and I went back home to find out what was going on.

I remember feeling weirdly detached in the next few days because I hadn't been in town like I normally would have been (not in any of the places affected fortunately). I don't remember much else from the day except my boss's boss phoning early afternoon to check I was OK as I hadn't been in the office, which was oddly touching.

My main memories are trivia from the days afterwards. Being one of only two people in the normally packed morning Tube carriage. The other woman smiled at me and I wondered if I looked as terrified as she did. Turning a corner outside Euston station and almost bumping into a police horse. Walking all the way home from the office in 2.5 hours when the second round of attacks took place and the Tube shut down.

Woah. 18 years ago I was in #London when the bombings happened. We used #LiveJournal to communicate about where we were, what was happening - the mobile phone network was down. I remember sitting at work on Farringdon Road with my colleagues watching the running news bulletins while there were sirens all over the city. My cousin came to my office and we walked home together to my flat in Brixton and watched Anchor Man to take our minds off what was happening. #LondonBombings
