And when I say "truncated" the audio, I mean it's gone. I can't just go and drag the right edge of that region back to where I want it: the new right edge is the new end of the region. Any audio behind that point is not accessible.

Undo on the edge edit will still bring back the whole thing, and of course you can bring it back in from the Files listing or the Finder. But still. Madness.

And here are a bunch of hashtags because apparently I can never remember to include them when I make a post.

Logic 11.2.2 seems to have fixed this particular issue, at least on the two systems I use regularly.

Can't wait to find the new things that have broken.

Well, this has now turned into one of those "cursed" Logic projects where the project is always unsaved (no matter how often you press save) and region edits (stripping silence) cause audio to play back at the wrong times.

I swear there have to be people at Apple who watch all this happening. "They're musicians," the laugh. "We can do anything to them, they'll keep going. They can't help themselves. Pass the popcorn!"

Wow, is it just me or is editing the leading edges of audio regions completely f*cked in Logic Pro 11.2? Can't touch the beginning of a regions without having it also change the end of (most?) selected regions (usually?) to some random place! And dragging back…slides the region length like a window? WTF?!

On a lark, I just tried to use Logic Pro 11's new "stem separator" to isolate vocals. The hope was that we'd be able make out the words on an original recording so, you know, folks who are adding background vocals could sing the same words. (And, no, we can't ask the original singer: no longer with us.)

The genereated stems were no help making out the words. I can imagine some limited contexts in which this technology might be useful, but I am having trouble thinking of instances it might be desirable.

For the vocals, we'll just do what we always do in situations like this: map out the vowels and consonants phonetically, don't worry about the actual words.

Ah: the enshittification of Logic Pro continues. Logic Pro 11.1 for macOS just greeted me with a window promoting Logic Pro for iPad: "get your free trial today."

If Apple had a brain, they would realize there is not (never has been, never shall be) an iPad associated with my Apple Account. What exactly would I do with a free trial?

If this is the reason XProtectRemediatorAdload took a big hunk of CPU for quite a long time DURING A RECORDING SESSION yesterday (yes, XProtect is macOS's anti-malware stuff, but "Adload" is ominous), I'm going to be even more annoyed.

Can anyone confirm or deny if the new Logic Pro 2.1 on the iPad now supports changing to time based rather than beat based on the time code? Mac Logic Pro has this, and I think it’s kinda the only sane way to edit spoken-word. I’d like to be able to use my iPad vs my mac sometimes. #logicpro #logicpro11
The stock “Ivory & Wood” piano included in Logic Pro is surprisingly decent. #LogicPro #logicpro11
Aaaand if I try to save the project (before quitting and restarting for the umpteenth time), the project is *instantly* dirty as soon as you save so…you're probably not saving. #logicpro11
And just for more fun: all key commands just stopped working. #logicpro11
