So my last #library #book was The Steampunk Trilogy by Paul DeFilippo. 3 short stories in one book. The first two stories were positively delightfully bonkers stories. Never knew what kind of ridiculousness you'd find by the end of the page! The third story...I couldn't finish. The pacing was off and I just couldn't get into it. I did feel like every story I had to wait a little bit to become invested in the characters and their story so maybe I would've found joy if I stuck with it but I didn't.

But all had really fun tie-ins to real history and real historical figures, including a young Queen Victoria, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Walt Whitman, Fredrick Douglas and more, but also events such as the Great Molasses Flood

Super neat book and the stories I did read were well worth it!

School is out this week, but in the spirit of not falling behind while reading a crushingly boring textbook I hit the public library and rented a study carol (sp?). My fiance (face censored) came with me ❤

It was like, frigid chilly in the library, so we hit the little café downstairs and I picked up a hot chocolate to defrost.

I've finally located my local (fairly rural) library's research services. . .I am pleased to report that I have access to, in no particular order:

- Birds of the World
- Britannica
- EBSCOHost ebooks
- Gale (!)
- JSTOR (!!!)

A lot more than that, but these stood out to me.

Folks, support your #LocalLibrary. They're only going to get more important in the coming years.

Got Marvel's Midnight Suns for the #PS5 from our local library system, and I really liked it! I didn't finish it yet, but I plan on buying it and finishing it! Not my regular type of game, but having a Marvel skin and story on a strategy game certainly doesn't hurt

The #Library seems #StrangelyIgnorant of the deaths of some 2000 #Australians, many after being forced into interactions with #DebtColllectionServices via the #DepartmentOfHumanServices run #RoboDebt program.

At least I hope they're ignorant.
And that's why they refer fees for 28 day(?) over due items to a "US based debt collection agency".
