What if the Sheikah became spiritual demigods or something? Like for / creating the many shrines in BotW.

I mean... green is also associated with chlorophyll, life, and healing. What happens when you "heal" a dead body?

it's almost like ... there shouldn't be ANY massive concentrations of power in individuals or organisations.

It's almost like power and responsibility should be spread out as equally as practicable across the population.

That would limit risks from any given point of failure.

Re: well house guy being Bongo Bongo, but then ... who was phone? No, Dead Hand??

Sheikah training ground makes perfect sense to me.
Maybe BB was someone who didn't bother with the strenuous training to see the truth so they stole the mask of truth to make the eye of truth.
Then they were caught, their hands were cut off, and killed. Then the cruel irony (?) of developing their own eye of truth only after death, seeing what was actually important to them.

Also: use the hover boots in the fire section of Ganon's Castle to make the platforms not sink, iirc.

Gotta love a musician! And 'dead man's volley' is a useful phrase.

jfc. is it "decimated" when the entire thing is flattened? "devastated". It's devastated.

GIANT WOMAN.

FUCK! I had an awesome techno-ish remix of Gerudo Valley I found online sometime between 1998 and 2006. If you know of any, PLEEEEASE let me know. I was a dumb kid who didn't know what attribution or basic record-keeping were.

The Spirit Temple feels most real to me, like acknowledging the pain of existence along the love of exploration.
[missed 'back to the future' ref.]
Oh shit! The rooms on the map kinda look like the giant Gerudo statues.

Ok, so the Gerudo are linked to the Hyrule (Hylian?) Royal Family too. ohhhh shit...! Get close to someone, burn the facade with light to see in someone's mind, then ... a thing.

"Bloody history of greed and hatred", huh? I didn't think Ninty based it *that* heavily on the UK!

omg reverse haikus (although, yes, I've heard the number of syllables isn't the main point at all, it's the symbolism and reframing or something, right?)

Fire Temple was ritualistic and passionate joi de vivre and Shadow Temple is a descent into the underworld, gotcha, gotcha.

dude, dude please. Please block. Please block and get shorter to not get sliced by the Reapers. Otherwise, no gd clue what the dropping block is for. Raising HR and blood pressure?
"Big fans"?! And they look like a face that blows an irresistible stream of hot air at you that you need ironclad will to ignore?! Something something celebrity culture idfk.

Maybe Bongo Bongo was the main torturer? or Dead Hand was with BB as the next main dude, who got extra corrupted by the other spirits.

... huh. BB was the explodey well wooden frame thing monster earlier. How did I miss that for decades? (easily)

Shadow Temple is accepting mortality, Spirit Temple is learning from ancestors...?
Ok so making it rain in Kakariko Village makes the wind blow (?) which speeds up the windmill -- this would make so much more sense for a watermill. The windmill is somehow linked to the well, so maybe it's another (speculative) drought / flood control mechanism?
Or, far more likely, "[Hyrule Royal Family] did it."

HORROR LEVELS YES. Mini-dungeon everywhere.
Simple. Dude who used to live where the well is now was part of the HRF (jfc, I'm conspiracy-theorising a 27 year old game).

Anyway, Sheikah dude most likely protected the entrance to the Shadow Temple. It may have started as his basement they used to torture enemies of the crown or whatever.
Then either expanded and caved-in the connection, or prompted a larger separate construction behind the graveyard.

... wait, is Ocarina of Time based on the idea of "you need a big stick to threaten people into obeying the sttaus quo [because they have necessary magic powers to 'protect you', you guys]"?

Cuz after the democrats shat the bed AGAIN, I'm not having that.

I wonder who Dead Hand is / was, if anyone of note.

I guess the frozen Zora's Domain makes sense if the water from Lake Hylia would have warmed it through the underground rapids linking them.
Maybe ZD is naturally cold from high altitude water sources on Death Mountain?

Oh shit, nice. Forest Temple is plot, like Great Deku Tree's exposition, Fire Temple is blunt force, and Water Temple demands contemplative deliberation. Cool!
Oh shit. I never even thought about getting Biggoron's Sword or Farore's Wind so early / for the Water Temple. Like I saw this dude backflip up the stairs in Dodongo's Cavern and DAMN.

Maybe the Water Temple is, lore-wise, made from the ancient Hyrule Royal Family / Zora Kingdom to... manage droughts, waterborne diseases, agriculture (from the fields by the fishing hut), and water flow...?

"Dark Burger. Conquer yourself!" Also omg I didn't know about the shadow being stolen by / after the island. What if the tree steals it and attacks you for muddying its water? omfg and the mirrored health thing is cool too. AND IT'S NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME, WOT. Tree disappears with the illusion? Spooky evil tree. solved it.

I always liked how Link's foot taps Morpha's abnormal water as he leaps to the platform in there. I guess... if water gets into the boss room, the temple stops the lake from overflowing somehow?

Huh. and the Forest Temple is an overgrown haunted mansion. Was this an abandoned, previous Hyrule Castle?

... what if Phantom Ganon banished to the 'gap between dimensions' became the cloud ganon in the twilight realm? you could have TP-banished Ganondorf be still wandering the twilight.

I do wonder if the Sages are all dead. Or like, if they had to die in order to be come Sages?

okay so... the Ice Cavern mini-dungeon is linked to the Hyrule Royal Family somehow. and WHERE THE FUCK DID JABU-JABU GO ANYWAY?!?! blue fired, red ice? I guess this is just inverted design expectations but still. Maybe a lore reason.

was the owl Gaebora Kaepora added for the english release or his text updated to be more obvious for anglophone players?

I head-canoned King Dodongo's corpse cooling the magma (cuz underground, so not lava, right?) because whether he breathes fire (lol) or not, his body is almost certainly not as hot as literal liquid metal or rock.

Like how water (usually) melts ice in a glass.
Yes, yes, I know there are wibbly-wobbly PV=RkT or whatever exceptions and the triple point and DON'T THINK ABOUT IT ESCAPE WHILE YOU CAN -- and that's why you should study physics, kids! It's an important science worthy of your limited time on Earth. (run)
